Tips on Golf Equipment

Having missed hits and mishaps while playing golf is of course normal. You may be blaming your swing, shots, and moves on a poor game. It may not be all you, if your equipment is old and defective in some way, it will definitely bring your game down. A few tips and tricks may get your game back up to par where you want it.

When you are looking to buy new clubs, then take in the whole club. Check the heads, shafts, and grips before making any type of purchase. They should be able to clean, straight, and the right size before you decide to add them to your collection. There should be consistency within the swings when you try them out. Buying used clubs if they are in excellent condition is great, however new ones may cost only slightly more and you know for sure there is nothing wrong with them.

Now if you have clubs and are looking to improve them, there are few things to look for and take care of.

When re-gripping your clubs, be careful. You want to make sure you take special care since this is where you will be holding the club and this greatly affects your shot. Make sure you know your core grip size. To find this out, you will need to measure the diameter or butt of the shaft. The shaft diameter and the core diameter should match. There are a few different hands sizes available, regular, mid-size, over sized, and jumbo. Also, make sure you are using high end materials to ensure a proper fit.

If you have been using clubs that really do not fit your size and height, this will affect your golf game. Golf club angles that are too steep will change the back swing. If you can get your golf clubs custom fitted, this is a good option versus buying an entirely new set. It will cost some money, but it will be well worth it in the end. Custom golf clubs are fitted to you specifically, ensuring a more comfortable golf club.

Choosing between a steel or graphite shaft can make a difference in your swing also. Many professional golfers prefer steel shafts over the graphite. However, if you are women you may actually like the graphite better, it is more popular with women and beginners since it is lighter, but it is more expensive. Unlike, steel shafts that do cost less.

Lastly, do not load your golf bag up with clubs that you do not use or do not fit your needs. A bag can hold up to 14 golf clubs, however if you do not need 14 then there is no since wearing yourself out carrying them around. Bring only what you will actually use.

Between practice, improved clubs, and picking clubs that will work best for you, you will improve your golf game and your score. Improving your golf game is not as difficult as it may seem. Keeping these tips in mind along with practicing and working at it and you will have improved your game in no time.
