Picking the Right Golf Bag

Actually, whether you are a beginner or a pro, picking a golf bag is an important part of your golfing experience and does become a vital part of your game. Of course, golf bags come after golf clubs; however it is still one of the most important parts of the equipment.

You do need a good golf bag to carry the clubs around in. You would much rather focus on your teeing and swing, then on what is happening with your clubs. When you have a good golf bag that you are comfortable with, you will have fewer worries while on the golf course and be able to focus better on your game. There are a few things you should know about buying a golf bag before you go off to get one. One of the most important things you should know about golf bags is that there are two different types, carry bags and cart bags.

Carry bags are typically used when you are going to walk the course.

Cart bags are for when you are not allowed to walk on the course and have to use a riding golf cart.

When you are first starting to play, many people buy the carry bag to start, but over time you will need both. So you are always able to play no matter what course you are going to. Having this very functional piece of equipment will keep all your golf equipment, not just your clubs organized and able to be found easily. You will clothes, balls, towels, and tees you will be carrying and keeping them neat in your golf bag will make finding what you need when you need it a lot easier. There are many golf bags that have smaller coolers for drinks so you have one less item to carry, but can still have drinks you want while on the course.

Make sure that when you go to pick out your carrying golf bag, you find one that is comfortable and has thick, well padded straps so you can carry the bag easily and it does not become uncomfortable or cause back pain. Low quality or cheap bags may cause problems and you may end up buying another bag any way if it tears or falls apart. Most golf clubs can hold up to 15 golf clubs; however there are many tournaments that have a limit to how many clubs and the types that you are able to carry.

One more thing to think about when buying a golf bag is how heavy it is. Of course you do not want it to be too heavy or bulky. You have to be able to carry these bags around and lift them in and out of golf carts. However, they need to protect your golf clubs from the elements and from the course. There are some that are water proof and weather resistant, which is a great feature depending on where you live or the types of courses you play on. Again, you want to make sure that the weather resistance protection does not impact the weight too much. Ideally, a bag that weighs five pounds or less is the perfect size to carry around, it will cost a little more for a lighter bag, but this is well worth it.

Picking the right golf bag for your needs is something that you should think about, before grabbing the first bag you see. Make sure that it has all the features you are looking for depending on where you are playing and the types of courses you will be enjoying.
